About the Author
ANNALISA HALL is the best-selling children's author of "The Holy Ghost is Like a Blanket" published August 2013, and children's author of "I Want to Be Baptized." She was born in Rochester, MI. She received a merit scholarship to the LDS Business College graduating with honors in Accounting.She transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo and worked in, her favorite building, the Harold B. Lee Library.She graduated from BYU with a B.A. in English. She wrote "Garbage Can Graffiti" based on a true story, published Sep 2010 in the Friend.She currently lives in Southern California with her husband and three children.She is a member of SCBWI.

Fabulous book. Highly recommend it.

This is a great book. I used it while giving a talk about the Holy Ghost during me daughters LDS baptism.
I started my talk by saying that as I prepared for this talk I couldn't think of anything that I could tell my daughter that we hadn't already gone over in our preparations for her actual baptism. I told the brief story about how after teaching my daughter a lesson about the gifts of the spirit, my daughter came over and crawled onto my lap and sweetly asked,"so Mom, what kinds of gifts are we talking about?" Lol. It was so sweet and funny that it totally inspired me to use this book.
In preparation, I wrapped a great big box with a top that can pop right off and filled it with all the the examples that they used in the book. A dove, wind chime, glasses, new scriptures, flashlight, a star necklace, a Bouquet of white roses, seashell, train, umbrella and finely a soft white blanket.
As I read the book, I would pull out each idem and then read the corresponding scripture that went with each example. Located at the end of the book. Super convenient.
Example: The Holy Ghost is like a Dove. I pulled out a little porcelain Dove(for my daughter to keep on her bookshelf) and read the page out of the book. After that, I followed it up with "Just like in Mark 1:10, after Jesus Christ was Baptized 'He saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descended upon him.'" Having the scripture to back up each example was very powerful.
Tip: write all the scriptures down on notecards beforehand.
We have read this book several times since the baptism and this is been a beautiful way for my daughter to remember her special day.
Side note: After my daughters baptism I told her she was welcome to give all her friends one of her roses. And she went around and gave all the girls and their mothers a white rose and thanked them for coming to her baptism. I looked around afterward and saw my daughter standing there in her white dress and everyone around her holding a white rose. It was so beautiful. The spirit was so strong. A day we will never forget.

My daughter loved this when she got baptized! The illustrations are adorable and it really helps kids understand the concept of the Holy Ghost which can be hard for some.

Awesome and Wonderful

It is an amazing book. Sometimes I have problems explaining to my children certain things and this book helped me a lot. Plus in general if you're adult, I'd even honestly recommend this book with all my heart still because sometimes even as Christians it's hard to answer questions to someone who you're trying to lead to God or answer questions to newly saved friend's or acquaintances. Also this book touched my heart so much and I have even read it more than a couple times. Most of all it can helps anyone who is Christian, honestly. Whether you're young or old this book is wonderful.
